Because it is not always pleasant to raise a flower and look through it in plain sunlight. Because a "nipenthes" appears impressive but you don't really know whether it is so due to its lethal juice. Because the long, final pause can come by something that initially seemed so inviting. Because, at times, we cannot decide whether we are the venomous flower or the trapped, because dazed, insect.
